Jhené Aiko comes to the Tiny Desk.
The R&B songstress made her long-awaited debut on NPR’s concert series. During her intimate at-home show, which she dubbed the “quarantine edition,” Jhené performed new and old material, spanning from her first mixtape to this year’s Chilombo. She opened her soothing set by playing sound bowls before going into “Lotus (Intro).” Backed by a full band, all wearing masks, she delivered “Stranger” and “Do Better Blues” off 2011’s Sailing Soul(s).
She then took it to the Souled Out era with “To Love & Die” and “W.A.Y.S.” The therapeutic vibes continued with a mashup of “Summer 2020” and “Everything Must Go,” capping off with “Eternal Sunshine.”
Jhené released a deluxe edition of Chilombo in July featuring collaborations with Chris Brown, Kehlani, Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa.
